This was stated by the Minister for Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission Viktor Nazarenko at the plenary session “Quality in the new reality” within the forum “World Quality Day – 2022” which was held on November 11.

The task of creating the Eurasian Quality Assurance System (EQAS) is laid down in the Strategic directions of development of the Eurasian economic integration until 2025. Its main goal is to improve the quality and competitiveness of products manufactured by enterprises of the Union in circulation in the single market or for export. The works on the development of the concept and its signing are to be completed by the end of 2023.

The Commission jointly with the authorized bodies of the EEU countries is currently developing the concept for creation of the EEUOC, taking into account the results of the relevant research work in the context of each element of the quality infrastructure.

According to the EEC Minister, the creation of the Eurasian quality assurance system is an important mechanism to improve the quality and competitiveness of the Union products. The effectiveness of this activity depends on the coordinated development of all constituent elements of the EQS at the supranational and national levels. It is not only a question of increasing the scientific and technical level of requirements for products.

Creation of the modern base of standards establishing consumer characteristics of products and methods of their testing, coordinated development of the testing base for evaluation of product properties declared by the manufacturer, increasing trust to product certificates and declarations, creation of the Union voluntary certification – it is important to bring all mechanisms of consumer rights protection to a new level,” Victor Nazarenko noted. – In this context it is necessary to take an integrated approach to the creation of EUOC, with the active participation of all market participants: from the government and business community to the Union consumers”.

During the plenary session the participants discussed in detail the achievements and problems connected with improvement of quality and competitiveness of the products, implementation of effective management methods, application of modern models of business excellence.
