On the wings of creativity

Anastasia Abakumova is a designer of jewelry made of pearls and natural stones.
I’ve always been attracted to jewelry. We even have a family legend, according to which the great-grandmother found a treasure with jewelry. My mother developed my creative abilities and took me to modeling, drawing, sewing, beading circles.
The first orders appeared immediately when I started making baubles from beads, it was very fashionable at school.  I went into a costume jewelry store near the house and looked at the window, measured, studied, photographed with my eyes and made myself an extraordinary necklace. My friends, seeing an unusual necklace on me, asked where I bought it, ordered beautiful and unusual jewelry from me.
For my jewelry, I carefully select high-quality materials – natural stones, sea and river pearls, Swarovski crystals and rhinestones, jewelry accessories – brass with jewelry coating, silver.
I design the collection myself. I check each model on myself, see if the earrings are heavy, if the necklace is comfortable to wear. Jewelry is my practical experience, I create them by selection, I achieve the perfect shape, ergonomics and weight of earrings.
Jewelry immediately became in demand and was sold mainly on the Kuznetsky Bridge – in the store “Brother’s Girlfriend” in the “Children’s World” and in the hand made store, it gave me a good start.
Later, design ceased to be a simple hobby, and individual jewelry was formed in the collection – earrings, rings and pendants with inserts of natural pearls and stones.
The process of creation is a creative flow, a game with stones – you start to pick up what goes with what, it looks beautiful, it can be a flash and a necklace is ready in an hour, everything adds up, sometimes I can spend a day with something – I pick up different combinations.
Working with stones is like meditation, they are very pleasant to the touch, beautiful colors, hands themselves ask to try different colors and structures.
My family and friends support me in my work, believe that I need to devote myself to a creative profession. I have a son, Roma, 6 years old, he helps me in creating new collections, now there is a demand for children’s naive jewelry and my son and I create them together. Roma tells me non-standard solutions.
I am inspired by nature, travel, from which I bring outlandish materials, such as stained wood, feathers, seeds of tropical plants and various stones.
I am fond of historical costume and can recreate beads from natural corals, yakhonts and mother-of-pearl balamuts.
I always understood that I would work for myself, and now jewelry design is my main activity. I develop my product through rethinking traditions, local cultural codes.

I am interested in ecology and I understand that the resources of the planet are limited and exhaustible, so I am actively developing a fashionable direction-upcycling – alteration of jewelry. From vintage beads from my grandmother’s jewelry box, I create unique jewelry in a single copy. I conduct an analysis of the casket, as a stylist I recommend what to wear with what, how to combine and modify jewelry to order. My goals: to create my own workshop for the manufacture, alteration and upcycling of jewelry, to engage in the processing of jewelry, to promote this direction.
I also conduct master classes for children and adults, where everyone who comes makes their own unique necklace. Creative workshops on painting clothes in the technique of “Tai Dai” and “Upcycling”.
I make and embody any, even the most provocative ideas, look for non-standard solutions and create exclusive jewelry. I am open to cooperation with organizations for the creation of corporate gifts, I am ready to share my experience, participate in events, hold exhibitions and master classes, teach children and adults creativity, implement non-standard ideas
I often participate in exhibitions and fairs, with jewelry, communicate with customers, I am interested in demand.
