On February 10, Russian-Armenian interdepartmental consultations on the issues of information security were held in Yerevan.
The Russian delegation, headed by Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation O.V.Khramov, included representatives of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the Ministry of Finance of Russia, the Ministry of Justice of Russia, the FSO of Russia, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation. The Armenian delegation headed by the Head of the Staff of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia A.R.Petrosyan included representatives of the Staff of the Security Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the National Security Service, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Armenia, the Office for the Implementation of Electronic Management Infrastructures CJSC.
During the consultations, a substantive exchange of views took place on the entire range of issues of Russian-Armenian cooperation in the field of information security on international and regional platforms, as well as in a bilateral format.
A thorough “reconciliation of hours” was carried out following the results of the first substantive session of the UN Open-ended Working Group on Security Issues in the Use of ICTs and ICTs themselves in 2021-2025. The urgency of strengthening international cooperation in the field of countering information crime was emphasized.
The importance of increasing efforts to ensure information security within the CIS, the CSTO, as well as the OSCE was confirmed.
Following consultations at the expert level, a draft bilateral intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of information security was agreed.
