On March 5, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Makei.
As a follow-up to the telephone conversation between President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, the foreign ministers discussed topical issues of Russian-Belarusian cooperation in the international arena, as well as the real state of affairs and the implementation of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine.
Special thanks were expressed to the Belarusian side for providing a platform and creating comfortable conditions for holding Russian-Ukrainian negotiations.
The Ministers agreed on the next steps of the delegations of the two countries in international organizations.
Sergey Lavrov congratulated his colleague on the successful holding of the constitutional referendum in Belarus.
