On February 24, at the initiative of the Palestinian side, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov had a telephone conversation with a member of the PLO Executive Committee, a member of the Fatah Central Committee, Minister for Civil Affairs of the Palestinian National Authority Hussein Sheikh.
During the conversation , H.The Sheikh shared his assessments and considerations in the light of recent events in the Palestinian territories and their impact on the prospects of the Palestinian-Israeli negotiation process.
The Russian side reaffirmed its unwavering position in support of the creation of an independent Palestinian State within the borders of 1967, coexisting in peace and security with Israel.
