This was stated by Chairman of the Collegium of the EEC Mikhail Myasnikovich at the international forum “Economic battles without rules: recipes for victory,” held in Moscow on November 22 at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

“In the current conditions it is necessary to take a new look at the issues of development in our Union. A reasonable combination of strategic planning and market relations will give a greater effect. It is advisable to initiate the creation of Eurasian companies, promote the growth of investment and make more active use of national currencies in the economic interaction of the EAEU countries. I think it’s time to think about the development of a comprehensive regulatory document – an updated Treaty on the Union,” said Mikhail Miasnikovich in his speech.

The Commission takes rapid anti-crisis measures to stabilize the situation and ensure the sustainable functioning of the common market, which has somewhat mitigated the impact of sanctions on the economy of the Union. They are zero import duties, raising the threshold of duty-free imports of goods for personal consumption by individuals, the promotion of “parallel” imports and so on. These measures are estimated to support companies and citizens to the tune of $2 billion. THEY ARE ESTIMATED TO SUPPORT COMPANIES AND INDIVIDUALS TO THE TUNE OF $2 BILLION.

Indicative balances of main foodstuffs in the EAEU have been developed. Union’s countries are provided with 148% of grain, 98.5% of meat, 97% of milk, 98.5% of sugar, 194% of vegetable oil. It indicates a high degree of food security of the Eurasian Economic Union. At the same time, according to Mikhail Miasnikovich, efforts should be directed towards creating effective tools of resource management in the EAEU.

“The decisions taken by the EAEU member countries and the Commission allowed to maintain the level of the aggregate GDP of the Union for the first half of the year to 2021,” emphasized the Chairman of the Collegium of the EAEU.

Special attention was paid to the issues of technological independence and import substitution in the EAEU. At the same time the Commission has already developed and supported by the heads of government of the union countries the mechanism of financial incentives for the creation of industrial cooperation projects. A list of possible projects in priority sectors has been drawn up. There is a constant dialogue with the business community.

In his speech, Chairman of the Collegium of the EEC noted the need to create a Eurasian financial system and own Eurasian institutions, such as the Eurasian Court of Arbitration, rating agencies and structures, which could deal with strategic planning in the EEU.

“This is not only useful for the EEU countries, the Union’s role at the international level is increasing and there is a practical basis for the implementation of the Greater Eurasian Partnership,” summed up Mikhail Myasnikovich.

During the international forum between the Chairman of the EEC Board Mikhail Myasnikovich and the Rector of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation Stanislav Prokofiev the cooperation program between EEC and the Financial University for 2023 – 2024 was signed.
