On November 25, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation S.V. Vershinin received Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen in Moscow Ahmed Al-Waheishi at his request.
The main topic of the meeting was the humanitarian situation in Yemen. They stressed the need to mobilize international efforts to assist all the needy people in the country without exception. They discussed the prospects of supplying Russian food aid, including through international organizations of the UN system.
They confirmed their support for the mediation efforts of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Yemen, H. Grundberg, in the interests of restarting the movement towards a lasting political settlement.
