On March 5, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic R.A.Kazakbayev in Moscow as part of his official visit to the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, the foreign ministers discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, including in the context of joint work on the implementation of agreements previously reached at the highest and high levels. Considerable attention was paid to the processes of Eurasian integration, coordination of approaches to major international problems on multilateral platforms, the topic of ensuring global and regional security, including in connection with the events in Ukraine.
Following the talks, the ministers adopted a joint statement and signed a program of cooperation between the Russian and Kyrgyz Foreign Ministries for 2022-2024.
The visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Russian Federation was the first of the events scheduled for 2022, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (to be celebrated on March 20). Before the meeting, Sergey Lavrov and R.A.Kazakbayev got acquainted with the exposition of materials from the Archive of Foreign Policy of the Russian Federation dedicated to this anniversary date.
