Al-Arabi newspaper in the middle of the month published information about the cost of mobile Internet in Arab countries for the previous year. Referring to data from the Cable website, which monitors prices for communication services, the publication noted a high difference between the most expensive and the cheapest mobile Internet among the countries of the region under consideration.
The highest price per gigabyte was in Yemen ($ 16.58 or 1,153.8 rubles), and the lowest was in Algeria ($ 0.48 or about 33 rubles at the current exchange rate). For comparison, in Russia the cost of the same volume of mobile Internet was 24.6 rubles. This makes it one of the cheapest in the world, Komsomolskaya Pravda reports.
