New satellites unveiled in Iran

On Tuesday, February 7, the Tolu-3 sounding satellite and the Nahid-2 telecommunications satellite were presented in Iran.

Tolu-3 and Nahid-2 satellites were presented at the ceremony on the occasion of the National Day of Space Technologies in the presence of the Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of the country Isa Zarepour and the head of the space organization of Iran Hassan Salarie.

The Tolu-3 satellite is a probing type with an accuracy of 10 m color images and 5 m white-black images.
On February 3, 2009, Iran, with the help of its launch vehicle, launched the first national satellite “Omid” (“Hope”) into Earth orbit, and joined the countries that have the ability to launch satellites. Iran celebrates this day as the National Day of Space Technologies. Iran is currently among the top ten countries with a full cycle of production and launch of satellites and satellite carriers.
