The intense fight against the fires raging in three regions of the country (in Biobio, Newble and Araucania) continues. The day before, Latin American media reported that firefighters were able to take control of 186 sources of fires out of 323. At the moment, the extinguishing of another 90 is actively continuing.
President Gabriel Bortik has already arrived at the crash site, who is monitoring the actions of special agencies. According to Sputnik Mundo on February 8, the country’s leader said that some of the fires could have occurred due to arson.
“Whoever is playing with fire in this, the law will overtake him, think about the people who work and risk their lives for all of us,” Borik said at a press conference on the situation.
