Kazakhstan and Canada are in favor of intensifying bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Umarov received Canadian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Alan Hamson.

During the talks, the parties discussed a wide range of issues on the development of bilateral multifaceted cooperation.

Canada is among the top 15 foreign investors in Kazakhstan. Since 2005, the gross volume of foreign direct investment from Canada to Kazakhstan has amounted to more than 5.5 billion US dollars. The dynamics of the growth of bilateral trade was noted. Thus, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Canada in 2022 amounted to 836.6 million US dollars, which is 68.8 percent more than a year earlier.

In revealing the significant potential of investment and trade and economic cooperation, the interlocutors stressed the importance of further improving the favorable conditions for business representatives of the two countries. New opportunities in the cultural and educational sphere were also considered.
