Iran and Turkmenistan may sign a roadmap for cooperation in the field of science and culture

New areas for cooperation, including science, music and cinema, were discussed during the meeting between the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Culture and Islamic Orientation of Iran Mohammad Mahdi Esmaili. The definition of new areas of interstate cooperation was reported on the eve of the Islamic Republic News Agency.

“Meredov and Esmaili pointed out the expediency of signing a roadmap for the practical and systematic implementation of interstate cooperation in the fields of culture and science. In addition to the above-mentioned areas of partnership, the officials considered the possibility of strengthening ties in the field of mass media, broadcasting and publishing,” IRNA writes.

The first joint cultural events between Turkmenistan and Iran are to be held in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of philosopher and poet Makhtumkuli Fraga. In addition, the countries plan to organize cross-actions dedicated to the holiday of Novruz Bayram (approx. – the celebration of the arrival of spring; is an object of intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO).

According to IRNA, the Days of Culture of Iran were held in Ashgabat on February 12-14, to which musicians, performers, artists and other representatives of creative crafts from the Islamic Republic were invited.
