The 2nd plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China /CPC Central Committee/ of the 20th convocation will be held in Beijing from February 26 to 28.
The corresponding decision was made on Tuesday at a meeting of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, which was chaired by General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping.
The meeting discussed the report on the work of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee to the CPC Central Committee.
In addition, the draft plan for the reform of party and state bodies was also discussed, and it was decided to revise it in accordance with the opinions gathered at the meeting and further submit it for consideration at the upcoming plenum.
Since the 18th CPC Congress in 2012, the CPC Central Committee, whose core is Comrade Xi Jinping, has made deepening the reform of party and state bodies an important task in promoting the modernization of the system and the potential of public administration, the meeting noted.
The functions of the party and state bodies were systematically and holistically restructured, the participants of the meeting noted, stressing that such a reform provided a reliable guarantee for achieving historical successes and historical transformations in the party and the state, and also accumulated valuable experience for further reform of party and state bodies.
At the 20th Congress of the CPC, important decisions were made to deepen the reform of party and state bodies, they said at the meeting.
The participants of the meeting stressed the need to make efforts to ensure that the leadership of the party in the process of socialist modernization became more scientifically grounded in the establishment of bodies, more optimized in the division of functions, more perfect in institutions and mechanisms, as well as more effective in functioning and management.
The meeting discussed the list of proposed candidates for leadership positions in state bodies, which will be recommended at the first session of the National People’s Congress /NPC/ of the 14th convocation, as well as the list of proposed candidates for leadership positions of the National Committee of the People’s Political Consultative Council of China /CPPCC/, which will be recommended at the first session of the CPPCC 14-th convocation.
The above-mentioned work report, the draft reform plan and the lists of proposed candidates will be included in the agenda of the 2nd Plenum of the CPC Central Committee of the 20th convocation.
