On March 13, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, M.Yu., had a videoconference conversation.Galuzina with the Co-chair of the International Geneva Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia (MZHD), UN Representative J.Sultanoglu.
The Russian representative stressed the unacceptability of the unilateral decisions of the Co-Chairs on the cancellation and postponement of the planned rounds of the MZHD, pointed out the need to resume rhythmic work within the framework of the Geneva discussions.
The prospects of restoring the Mechanism for Preventing and Responding to Incidents on the Georgian-Abkhaz border in the locality of Gal, which has been inactive for the past few years against the background of the smooth functioning of a similar structure on the Georgian-South Ossetian border, were also discussed.
