Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) approved the regulation on the regional anti-terrorist operation “Mercenary”. “Nine documents have been reviewed. The main ones are the approval of the regulations on the regional anti-terrorist operation “Mercenary”, the regulations on the stocks of material assets of the formations of forces and means of collective security, the approval of the plan of the main activities of the governing bodies,” he told reporters.

Wolfovich informed that during the meeting in a narrow format, which was attended by the heads of delegations, “the state of affairs was reviewed and a clear brief analysis of the military-political situation in the regions of collective security was given.” “The heads of the delegations noted the challenges and threats that today emanate for the Collective Security Treaty Organization in a particular region of collective security. A set of measures has been proposed that will neutralize these threats and ensure security in the CSTO,” the Secretary of State said.

Speaking about the meeting of the committee members with the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held before the meeting, Volfovich said that the head of the republic presiding over the CSTO in 2023 pointed out that the potential of the committee has not been exhausted and aimed its participants at more dynamic and coordinated work. “The task has been set to start developing a new concept of collective security, designed for the period up to 2035, which will contribute to strengthening peace and security on the territory of our countries,” the Secretary of State said.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the CSTO Imangali Tasmagambetov.
