The CEC invited the heads of the central election commissions of the CIS countries to observe the elections of the President of Russia

Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Nikolay Bulaev invited the heads of the electoral bodies of the CIS countries to observe the presidential elections of the Russian Federation in March 2024. This was reported on Saturday by the press service of the CEC of the Russian Federation.

Bulayev made such a proposal at the first meeting of the Advisory Council of Heads of Central Election Bodies of the CIS countries in Tashkent

“We would like you to find time in your work schedule and come to us in March 2024 to participate in the observation of the presidential elections of Russia,” Bulaev said.

Also, the deputy chairman of the CEC proposed to hold a scientific and practical conference of CIS electoral bodies in Moscow in March. “The Advisory Council could act as its co-organizer. We will determine the topic of the conference and discussion platforms later,” he added.

Earlier, the head of the CEC of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova, stated that the next presidential elections of Russia will be announced and held within the time limits set by law. So far, they are scheduled for March 17, 2024. The Federation Council decides on the appointment of elections no earlier than 100 days and no later than 90 days before the voting day.
