Scientific organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will present over 60 developments and technologies at the international specialized environmental exhibition-forum Ecology Expo – 2023. This was reported to BelTA by the press service of the NAS.
The Institute of Housing and Communal Services of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will demonstrate the technology of processing sewage sludge and the organic part of solid municipal waste into biocomposts. The introduction of the technology will reduce the amount of sewage sludge sent to storage facilities by 5-10%; increase the volume of processing of the organic part of municipal solid waste by 10%; increase crop yields by 5-10%; reduce the area under the stored sludge and reduce the negative impact on the environment. The exhibition will feature full-scale samples of biocompost, samples of flower and vegetable products, lawn grass, based on biocompost.
The Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will show a resource-saving and environmentally friendly technology for processing clay-salt sludge of potash production, which will reduce the risks of environmentally hazardous above-ground storage of liquid concentrated salt waste. In addition, the technology will save mineral ore resources due to waste processing and the use of processed products, as well as saving land withdrawn from agricultural circulation for the storage of sludge.
The Institute of Microbiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will present the BioNeit biological product to activate purification and eliminate odors in closed systems of biological treatment facilities. The drug is based on highly active strains of microorganisms with a high destructive potential in relation to a number of foul-smelling compounds formed as a result of the biological decomposition of organic substances, as well as proteins and carbohydrates.
The Polessky Agrarian and Ecological Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will demonstrate the technology of processing waste from industrial enterprises and sewage sludge into organic fertilizers. The fertilizer is intended for use in agricultural production, on household plots and is produced with the use of fermented industrial sewage sludge from local treatment facilities of dairy processing enterprises.
The II International Specialized Exhibition Ecology Expo – 2023 “Green Technologies: Challenges and opportunities for the economy” will be held from August 22 to 24 in Minsk (Pobediteley Ave., 14, BelExpo Exhibition Center). The Forum is dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation.
