The implementation of the strategy for the development of the Eurasian economic integration until 2025 has made it possible to advance in key areas of cooperation. Answering a question from a BelTA correspondent, this was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the EEC, Iya Malkina.
“Among the significant results is the EAEU Industrialization Map, which includes more than 158 major investment and significant projects in 25 industries and 554 technological areas for which there is a need for import substitution in the EAEU, as well as the EAEU Agroindustry Development Map, containing information on 170 major investment and innovation projects in the agricultural sector in the Union countries in the amount of $16 billion. The unified search system “Work without Borders” has been launched. Work is underway on the implementation of the project “Digital technical regulation within the EAEU,” Iya Malkina listed.
Standard requirements for the technical equipment of the elements of the customs infrastructure located in the places of movement of goods across the customs border of the EAEU, in terms of the radiation control system, have also been adopted. “This will reduce the risk of illegal movement of nuclear and radioactive materials, ensure the implementation of international agreements in the field of nuclear and radiation safety,” she said.
Work is underway to form a unified system for the transit of goods within the EAEU. General principles and approaches to ensuring food security of the member states of the Union have been adopted, consolidating their intentions to ensure food security in the EAEU through their own production of agricultural products and food.
“It is important to note that for the first time a supranational budget is being created in the Union to stimulate integration and cooperation in the real sector of the economy,” the EEC representative stressed.
