The acceptance of applications for the All-Russian competition of young scientists in the field of education sciences, conducted by the Russian Academy of Education, is coming to an end. The experts spoke about the significance, objectives and results of the annual competition at a press conference held at the multimedia press center of MIA “Russia Today”.
The objectives of the competition are to activate the research of young specialists in the field of education sciences and improve the quality of work in this area, the experts explained. According to them, it is young scientists who are the coveted cadres in the scientific centers of RAO at all levels.
“We strive to show – in some way even prove – the necessity and importance of scientific research for the development of the practical domestic education system,” said Acting Vice–President of the Russian Academy of Education, Chief Scientific Secretary of the Presidium of the RAO, Corresponding Member of the RAO Viktor Basyuk.
According to experts, while maintaining continuity with the traditions of Russian pedagogy, young scientists will help to achieve an effective transformation of Russian education, taking into account the demands of the time.
According to the participants of the press conference, the most popular topics traditionally include research on teaching methods and technologies, as well as issues of teachers’ work with parents, problems of inclusive education and taking into account the age characteristics of students.
“In addition to medals and awards from the RAO and the Board of Trustees to the best of the participants, the laureates will have the opportunity to participate in the Congress of Young Scientists. This is a very high level,” said Nikita Krasnoshchekov, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational spheres of the Presidential Council for Science and Education, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Pedagogical Education of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
This year, the number of nominations was replenished with three more categories, experts said, and the Council of young Scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences took a direct part in their selection. Also this year, the possibility of participation in the competition of research teams, including up to five people, was secured.
“I participated in this competition twice, and the first time I failed to win. It’s great when something doesn’t work out, and then it works out. When you participate, you will learn how to structure and present your research. You will learn how to “package” it in a modern way,” said Maxim Voronin, member of the Council of Young Scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences, director of the scientific and Educational center “Digital Educational Environment”, associate Professor of the Faculty of Law of Moscow State University.
One of the important topics of the competition in recent years has been the popularization of knowledge – both natural science and humanities. For example, experts noted that qualitative historical research is becoming increasingly important today, which can also be presented as part of the competition.
“The subjects of the natural science cycle are complex subjects, schoolchildren and students should be interested in them. The role of the teacher is very important here. Therefore, research in the field of teaching these disciplines requires special attention, a special approach,” said Olga Migacheva, member of the Council of Young Scientists of RAO, head of educational projects of the Intellect Foundation.
Representatives of the RAO said that for them the competition does not end with awarding: the academy’s experts are working through all the presented results to include the best of them in the research plans and state tasks of the academy.
You can apply for participation in the competition until September 20. The information partner of the contest is the project “Social Navigator” of the International Media Group “Russia Today”.
