The International Congress “Universities of Culture and Arts in International Humanitarian Cooperation: Global challenges and strategy of action” is being held in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
The opening of the congress and the plenary session were held today with the participation of the Rector of the Moscow State Institute of Culture Ekaterina Kudrina and the Rector of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts Natalia Karchevskaya. “Today, more than 120 industry specialists are taking part in the congress. And I think that two days of close communication will help us to outline the path of further development and interaction,” Ekaterina Kudrina said.
During the opening ceremony, First Deputy Minister of Culture Valery Gromada noted that this year in Belarus has been declared the Year of Peace and Creation. “In this regard, I understand the special importance of this forum. Therefore, I wish everyone happiness, kindness and creativity for the benefit of our culture,” the First Deputy Minister of Culture addressed the participants.
The Congress is attended by leaders, scientists, artists representing universities of culture and arts of Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan and other countries. “Our countries, I mean all the CIS countries, have long-term relations for decades. This is cooperation in various fields, including in the field of education. And we manage to preserve the uniqueness of national education systems and these systems have a high integration potential for the formation of interstate relations,” Ekaterina Kudrina said.
She also shared that the congress is one of the effective steps towards the formation of a new educational space, “in which culture and art will be the system-forming dominant.”
Today, during the congress, participants will discuss what the creative university of the future looks like, how a new cultural identity of a person is being formed and how to achieve sustainable development of libraries. Tomorrow, the participants will have the opportunity to participate in various master classes: theater directing, the art of pop vocals, stage movement and much more. Expert sessions, discussion and presentation platforms will also be held. And everything will end with an animation program, a tour of BGUKI and a gala concert.
The Congress continues the tradition of international meetings of universities of culture and arts, founded in 2007 during the first International Symposium “Universities of Culture and Arts in the world educational space”. The symposiums were successfully held in the Russian Federation, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Republic of Korea, the French Republic, and the Republic of Tajikistan. In 2023, it was decided to resume a significant forum in the format of a congress and hold it in the Republic of Belarus.
