Belarus to hold a bilateral comprehensive exercise of the armed forces

A comprehensive exercise of the armed forces of Belarus will be held from September 22 to 26 in the Brest, Grodno and Minsk regions, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the republic reported on Thursday.

“A bilateral comprehensive exercise will be held in the Armed Forces of Belarus. The maneuvers will take place in several stages from September 22 to 26 at various training grounds and terrain areas, mainly in the territories of the Brest, Grodno and Minsk regions,” the report says.

The purpose of the exercise is stated to improve the level of readiness of the military command bodies of operational associations in ensuring continuous control of subordinate forces and means during the conduct of hostilities.

“When developing the concept of the exercise, modern approaches to the use of troops based on the experience of modern armed conflicts were taken into account,” the ministry added.

Command and staff exercises with the defense forces will be held in the Mogilev region of Belarus on September 22-25, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the republic reported on Thursday.

“From September 22 to 25, a command and staff exercise will be held with the territorial defense forces of the Mogilev region. Officials of the executive committees and military commissariats of the region, conscripts of the Mogilev, Osipovichi and Chaussky districts, as well as two detachments of the people’s militia will take part in the exercise,” the message says.

The defense ministry said that the defense forces will work out issues of protection and defense of important facilities, ensuring measures of martial law with the involvement of militia detachments, fighting sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the enemy, including live firing of artillery units of territorial troops at the Osipovichsky training ground.
