From October 6 to 10, 2023, Bishkek will host the Seventeenth Youth Delphic Games of the CIS member states. About 600 young men and women from 10 to 25 years old as part of the national teams representing the Commonwealth countries take part in competitions in 10 categories, including piano, violin, fine arts, academic singing, solo folk singing, pop singing, folk dance, folk instruments, wind instruments, artistic crafts.
The CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev sent greetings to the organizers and participants of the Delphic Games.
The message, in particular, says that these competitions are one of the large–scale youth projects in the Commonwealth, which unites talented youth and promotes the development of cultural dialogue between the CIS countries.
“It is important that this year the content of these creative competitions corresponds to the theme of the Year of the Russian Language as the language of Interethnic communication, announced by the Decision of the Council of CIS Heads of State,” the message emphasizes.
It also noted that the Delphic movement is gaining strength, the list of competitive nominations and the composition of participants are expanding. Sergey Lebedev drew attention to the fact that the capital of the current Delphic Games – Bishkek – is a city that is famous for its rich history, cultural monuments and natural attractions.
“Hardworking people live here, whose hospitality, no doubt, will help young talents to find new friends and keep the warmest memories of their stay in the Kyrgyz land,” Sergei Lebedev stressed.
He expressed confidence that the participants of the Games will have exciting competitions, participation in which will become a noticeable stage in their creative biography, and the acquired experience will allow young performers to conquer new professional heights.
