Improving the welfare of citizens — Russian President Vladimir Putin on the priorities of the CIS presidency in 2024

Russia, as part of its chairmanship in the CIS in 2024, will work to improve the standard of living of citizens of the CIS countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State.

He noted that Moscow is determined to work actively to further strengthen the authority of the Commonwealth as an integration association and to develop comprehensive cooperation within its framework.

“First of all, it concerns the solution of key tasks aimed at improving the welfare and quality of life of citizens of our states. We have prepared the concept of the presidency and a detailed plan of measures in the economic, law enforcement, cultural and humanitarian spheres,” Putin said.

According to him, priority attention is planned to be paid to deepening economic cooperation in the fields of digitalization, energy, industrial cooperation, ecology. In the military and law enforcement spheres, the Russian presidency will focus on improving the mechanisms of joint counteraction to both new and traditional challenges, and on strengthening external borders.
