On November 21, the closing of the VI Big Children’s Festival will take place at the RBC Event Center. The artistic director of the festival is Sergey Bezrukov. The event is supported by the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Moscow Region. The organizers of the festival are the Sergei Bezrukov Foundation for the Support and Development of Socio—Cultural Projects, the Moscow Provincial Theater.
The main part of the event will be the closing ceremony, where the 19 winners of the festival will be announced – performances, films, cartoons and books chosen by the Children’s Jury. In two months, the jury members – children aged 8 to 16 years – have visited more than 100 events of the festival and are ready to announce who, in their opinion, became the best this year.
The ceremony will begin with the award “For the best theatrical production based on the works of Russian classics of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation”.
Also at the closing of the festival, a round table “Art for children and people of the future: preserving the heritage and traditions of the small motherland” will be held. The speakers will be Olga Kazakova, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education, Sergey Bezrukov, Artistic Director of the BDF, and Roman Karmanov, General Director of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
In addition, the final stage of the “BDF Pitching” – a contest of creative ideas addressed to the theater for children and teenagers will be held. Directors, artists, actors, producers, theater critics will have the opportunity to present their project to directors and artistic directors of theaters throughout Russia.
As a result of past contests (this year the pitching will be held for the sixth time), 20 out of 46 participants were able to interest the directors in their projects, some of which have already been implemented, and the other is at the stage of staging right now. Three finalists of “BDF Pitching” receive financial support for their projects.
The Big Children’s Festival has been held since 2018 as part of the implementation of the federal party project “Culture of the Small Motherland”, the artistic director of the festival is People’s Artist of Russia Sergey Bezrukov.
