Dear Mr. Minister,

Dear Ivan,

Colleagues, friends,

We are glad to welcome you in Moscow. I know that you have been to our capital more than once, but this is the first time as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela. We have a good dynamic of contacts. In 2023, we already talked during my visit to Caracas in April this year and on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in September this year.

I appreciate our confidential dialogue. It helps to monitor the actions taken by various departments to promote bilateral cooperation in all areas based on the agreements of our presidents. We note the truly friendly and productive cooperation on international platforms, first of all in the UN.

We see the energetic, active role of Caracas in strengthening integration processes in Latin America and the Caribbean. We are grateful for the assistance in developing ties between the Russian Federation and the Latin American region.

At the initiative of Venezuela, the ALBA regional association issued a statement regarding the processes developing in the Middle East around the Gaza Strip. We note the almost complete coincidence of our approaches.

I am sure that today’s talks will be useful for promoting bilateral cooperation, exchanging views and developing joint steps on regional and international issues.
