On November 15-17, a regular meeting of the SCO Group of Experts on International Information Security (IIB) was held in Beijing under the Russian chairmanship.
The event was held in an expanded format with the involvement of a new SCO member state – Iran, as well as Belarus as an observer State.
The participants of the meeting considered the issues of ensuring the IIB through the formation of an international legal regime for regulating the information space. We discussed the implementation of the Plan of Interaction of the SCO member states on the IIB for 2022-2023. They exchanged views on the possibility of developing a treaty on combating the use of ICT for criminal purposes under the auspices of the SCO.
Within the framework of the event, a representative of the Russian company Rostelecom-Solar acquainted the participants of the meeting with approaches and solutions to strengthen information security.
The parties agreed to hold the next meeting of the SCO GOE on the IIB in 2024.
