Prospects for strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation discussed in Jakarta

Jakarta, December 1, 2023 – Kazakh Ambassador Serzhan Abdykarimov held a meeting with Chairman of the Interparliamentary Cooperation Committee of the Council of People’s Representatives (Parliament) of Indonesia Fadli Zon.

During the conversation, F. Zon shared the results achieved and positive impressions about his recent successful visit to Astana in November this year. The interlocutor focused on the importance of interparliamentary diplomacy in strengthening friendly and mutually beneficial relations between the two peoples and states.

In turn, S. Abdykarimov spoke in detail about the huge potential and prospects for the development of trade, economic, investment, tourism, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

In order to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, the Kazakh diplomat proposed to hold a photo exhibition about Kazakhstan next year in the building of the Council of People’s Representatives of Indonesia, which was supported by the interlocutor.

Following the meeting, the importance of maintaining a systematic dialogue between the legislative bodies of both countries was noted, including through the activation of the Kazakh-Indonesian interparliamentary friendship group and the exchange of visits at the highest parliamentary level.
