On December 10, International Human Rights Day, at the invitation of the Government of the French Republic, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Edil Baysalov took part in a solemn conference dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The event took place in the historic hall of the Palais Chaillot in Paris, where exactly 75 years ago the Third General Assembly of the United Nations officially adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The conference brought together leading politicians, members of the French Government, representatives of international organizations, several Nobel Peace Prize laureates, as well as heads of leading human rights organizations in Europe and the world.
Within the framework of the conference, Edil Baysalov held a number of important meetings and negotiations.
He met with the European Union’s Special Representative for Human Rights, Ilon Gilmore, the United Nations Special Representative for human rights Defenders, Mary Lawlor, as well as with the Special Ambassador of the French Republic for human Rights, Delphine Borione. These meetings were aimed at strengthening international cooperation in the field of human rights and exchanging experience in this area.
In addition, Edil Baysalov held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the French Republic Catherine Colonna, discussing the possibilities of further deepening bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and France. During the short meeting, he also conveyed warm greetings to the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron.
This significant event underscores the Kyrgyz Republic’s commitment to strengthening and protecting human rights at the national and international levels, as well as its role in promoting global dialogue on critical humanitarian issues.
