On December 21, a delegation of the Russian Ministry of Transport, led by State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Transport Dmitry Zverev, made a working trip to Minsk. Representatives of the Ministry of Transport took part in the discussion of issues of bilateral cooperation aimed at strengthening the transport complex of the Union State.
Within the framework of the visit, regular meetings of joint commissions were held under the chairmanship of Dmitry Zverev and Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus Alexei Lyakhnovich. The parties discussed further steps to implement agreements in the field of transportation of petroleum products and certain types of cargo.
Dmitry Zverev also held talks with Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Dubina and the leadership of the sectoral departments of the Ministry of Transport of Belarus. The procedure for approving the Plan of Conscientious Actions to ensure the functioning of the united transport system of the Union State has been agreed upon. The document will become an important part of the Main Directions for the implementation of the provisions of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State for 2024-2026.
The delegation of the Ministry of Transport also visited Minsk Automobile Plant (JSC “MAZ”) and I held a meeting with the company’s management. Buses and other types of Belarusian-made rolling stock and equipment were demonstrated to the Russian side. As noted by Sergey Semenov, Director of the Department of State Policy in the field of automobile and Urban Passenger Transport, the products of JSC MAZ It is in steady demand, including from carriers of the Russian Federation.
