The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will build 762 public bus stops in the main areas of the emirate. According to the project, all stops should be ready by 2025. Currently, RTA is considering the possibility of using 3D printing to erect some stops as part of experimental research. This is reported by ANI, a partner of the TV BRICS network.

The agency divided bus stops into four categories depending on the number of passengers using them daily: main (more than 750 people), secondary (from 250 to 750 passengers), main (from 100 to 250 passengers) and boarding/disembarkation stations (serving up to 100 passengers daily). Major stops will be air-conditioned.

Mattar Al Thayer, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Emirate, stressed that the new stops are part of the administration’s large-scale efforts to improve the quality of public transport and contribute to increasing the satisfaction of residents and guests of the emirate. “The design of the new stops meets accessibility standards for people with disabilities.”

According to Thayer, the introduction of new stops is an important step towards increasing mobility and increasing the number of public transport users in the city. The politician also added that the authorities will continue to work in this direction to further improve the public transport system.
