South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has asked the National Assembly (Parliament) to hold an address to the Nation (SONA) on February 8, 2024.
In this regard, the President wrote a letter to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Noshiwiva Mapisa-Nqakula, and the Speaker of the National Council of Provinces, Amos Masondo, asking them to convene a joint meeting of both Chambers.
The purpose of SONA is to present to the legislators and the population of the country the key policy goals set by the government and the expected results for the coming year.
During the address, the South African leader spoke about the achievements and problems, and also announced the measures that the government will take for systematic development in the financial sector in the coming year.
