Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdullah Aripov proposed to the participants of the international forum Digital Almaty 2024 – “Industry X. Digital evolution of the future” to create a platform for the exchange of technologies and knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence.
He made such a statement during a plenary session on the sidelines of the digital forum.
According to him, the joint implementation of modern IT technologies contributes to the dynamic digital development of the countries of the region.

“In this regard, we believe it is possible to create a regional expert platform for the exchange of technologies and knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence applications,” Aripov said.

He noted that close cooperation in the application of new digital technologies and the implementation of joint projects are important success factors.

“We stand for an active dialogue and deepening of our regional cooperation, which will undoubtedly contribute to the formation of one of the important regional centers of digital technologies in the future,” Aripov stressed.

At the same time, the Uzbek Prime Minister spoke about the formation of a favorable environment in the republic for accelerated export of IT services, the launch of programs aimed at supporting local and attracting foreign companies to the country, and the expansion of activities for residents of the IT park.
“In Uzbekistan, the number of resident companies of IT parks has exceeded 1,670. More than 26 thousand specialists work in them today. The number of foreign residents of the IT park has also increased almost 3 times – 426 companies,” Aripov added.
He also noted that the republic has expanded the geography of exports to 60 countries and increased the volume of IT services rendered by 2.4 times, bringing it to almost $350 million.
Another important area that Aripov spoke about is the digitalization of public services. In Uzbekistan, in 2023, more than 200 additional services were introduced on the Unified Portal of Interactive Public Services. This made it possible to provide 21 million services to the public and businesses.
“In addition, more than 100 information systems have been developed and implemented in the country as part of digital transformation, such as education, finance, customs, agriculture, geology and others,” the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan added.
He pointed out that due to the digitization of 370 customs operations, the time for processing documents at customs was reduced from 3 hours to several minutes.
Voicing plans for the future in terms of training and attracting young people to the IT sector, Abdulla Aripov spoke about the upcoming launch of the IT Talent program this year.
“Within the framework of the program, it is planned to allocate up to $3,000 to educational centers for each employed specialist in companies exporting IT services,” he noted.
