Russia invests 100 thousand dollars in IT startups in Fergana region of Uzbekistan

A group of Russian investors “Big Bear” will support new projects in the sphere of IT entrepreneurs in the Fergana region of Uzbekistan. As an incentive for local entrepreneurs, “Big Bear” offers an initial grant of 100 thousand dollars, said the head of the region Khairullo Bozorov. This was reported in the press service of the Fergana region administration.

With the help of investments from Russia, Fergana region, according to the local authorities’ plan, should become a large center of technological services. During the meeting, the parties discussed large-scale joint projects in the field of information technology in Fergana region, investments in local startups, financing of industrial enterprises, as well as the creation of a large outsourcing platform of IT services.

The partnership will include projects on digital transformation of the construction and design sector, development of a platform for foreign language learning by school students and introduction of a remote testing system for ICT graduates. At the beginning of the work, investors plan to invest up to 100 thousand dollars in testing and analyzing the effectiveness of the proposed projects on the territory of Fergana region.

“Big Bear” unites investors from such Russian regions as Siberia, the Urals and the Far East. They invest in new and promising projects related to information and communication technologies, digital transformation of the economy, online trade and logistics, and various industries.
