imbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa praises relations between Zimbabwe and Russia

Meeting a consignment of wheat and fertilisers provided by the Russian Embassy in Zimbabwe, Nikolay Krasilnikov, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa stressed the constancy and mutual understanding between the two countries based on historical partnership.

The Zimbabwean President said that country intends to further learn from Russia’s experience to improve the agricultural system and achieve success in wheat production. This is reported by New Ziana.

He expressed readiness to expand cooperation with Russia in the development of irrigation systems and modernisation of agriculture. Mnangagwa emphasised the common interest in enhancing cooperation and knowledge sharing with Russia.

“We welcome Russia’s continued support in our ongoing efforts to consolidate and strengthen our agriculture sector towards building greater resilience for climate change adaptation and guaranteeing sustained national food security,” stressed Emmerson Mnangagwa.

He expressed apprecation for the support of the Russian Federation and looked forward to further co-operation to strengthen national food security and economic sustainability.
