Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), announced the registration of 15 new developments in nuclear medicine and radiopharmaceuticals last year (March 20, 2023-March 19, 2024 local calendar), according to Mehr News Agency.
Eslami told a press conference in Tehran that AEOI is emphasizing the use of Iranian equipment. He revealed plans to open 50 clinics across the country that use plasma therapy to treat wounds, and added that Iranian scientists have created a domestic device to fight breast cancer.
Iran continues to be among the world’s top three leaders in radiopharmaceuticals, Eslami added, pointing to the achievements of the republic’s specialists in treating cancer patients. The AEOI chief also announced that Iran will hold the first international conference on nuclear energy on May 6 and 7 in Isfahan.
