Vladimir Putin met with Chairman of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova. The head of the Central Election Commission presented Vladimir Putin with a certificate of election as President of the Russian Federation.

E.Pamfilova: Hello, Vladimir Vladimirovich!

Vladimir Vladimirovich, let me give you a certificate.

Vladimir Putin: “thanks.

Ella Alexandrovna, thank you very much and all your colleagues both at the Central Executive Committee and on the ground. The work was difficult, I understand that, but it is very important for the country, for the internal stability of the state, especially today.

E.Pamfilova: “thanks.

Vladimir Putin: Thank you very much. I ask you to.

E.Pamfilova: Of course, the results of these elections are amazing – they are unprecedented. I’ve been thinking about it, all the numbers are here, Vladimir Vladimirovich, all the statistics.

The most important thing is how wise our people turned out to be. Unprecedented consolidation of society and the understanding that this is not just the choice of the President, but that this is actually some kind of important stage in the battle for Russia.

It was both with people and with us inside the system. It’s so complicated, it seems, consisting of representatives of many parties. But this consolidation, solidarity, that we are all fighting for the country now.

Vladimir Putin: All right.

E.Pamfilova: This is how the elections turned out, despite the incredible, I would even say, hysterical machinations of our detractors. This time there was such an indecent interference in the process. But we have always been used to it, for a long time, we have become accustomed to standard types of intervention, I don’t even want to talk about it. But along with this, suddenly such ugly forms began to be used, that is, they went all out.

In fact, they also played a big role in uniting our people with what they are doing. And the turnout may be high, and the result may be high. And what to do in such situations? And the most cynical, vile thing is that they bet on terror. This is something that has never happened before.

Why? And how can the turnout be lowered? To intimidate people, to cause fear, panic. That is, with the hands of their Ukrainian accomplices sitting in Kiev, they practically organized terror. We’ve all seen it. This is not only in relation to our border areas, these explosions, murders of people and all together. Our members of the commission also faced the same thing: telephone threats, attempts, say, to blackmail and much more, intimidation. That’s probably the biggest difference in what they were doing.

You know, it’s amazing, there are still some new forms. In my opinion, there are two aspects: to hit the turnout, and the second, understanding what the results might be… But we have created an unprecedented transparent, open system. It is very stable and shows just what is really going on for everyone. Now it’s getting harder and harder to lie, to make fakes, that is, to oppose it.

Vladimir Putin: Thank you very much and all your colleagues.
