Saudi Arabia hosts Gulf Film Festival to promote cultural co-operation between countries

Riyadh is hosting the fourth Gulf Cinema Festival, which runs until 18 April.

The event, organised by the Saudi Film Commission under the patronage of Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, brought together film pioneers, dignitaries and film industry activists. This is reported by Arab News.

The festival is scheduled to screen 29 films of various genres, hold seminars and discussion sessions on various aspects of cinema. Awards will be presented for outstanding achievements in cinema, contributing to the growth and development of the film industry in the region.

Specialized training workshops will cover topics such as “How to make an impactful documentary film” by Abdulrahman Sandokji, “The relationship between the music composer and the film director” by Mohammad Haddad, and “Art, writing and script development” by Mohammad Hassan Ahmed.

An important objective of the event is to strengthen cultural co-operation between the Gulf countries and exchange experiences among the participants.
