The delegation of Tatarstan visited the Alatka Free Economic Zone.
Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov met with Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Oleg Korobchenko, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, the parties discussed areas for the development of economic partnership, support for joint activities within the framework of industrial parks, expanding the use of existing opportunities to encourage investment and strengthening trade ties.
Then the fourth meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Tatarstan took place.
It noted the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, including the multi-vector expansion of strong friendly and fraternal relations with Tatarstan.
It was stressed that cooperation in the trade and economic sphere plays an important role in the bilateral partnership. The parties have great potential to increase trade turnover.
Another promising area of partnership development is cooperation in the field of industrial zones and the establishment of joint production. In addition, there are great prospects for cooperation in the fields of art and education, including in the field of student exchange.
It was also stressed that large-scale reconstruction works are being carried out in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur liberated from occupation within the framework of the concepts of “smart city” and “smart village”. All projects are implemented on the basis of advanced technologies and standards, Karabakh, East Zangezur and Nakhchivan have been declared a green energy zone, and special attention is paid to the use of alternative energy sources in these territories.
The parties discussed the priorities of cooperation, prospects for the development of ties in the fields of trade, transport and logistics, energy, agriculture, tourism, construction, industry, innovation, small and medium-sized businesses and humanitarian activities.
Tatarstan companies are invited to take advantage of the favorable investment climate created in Azerbaijan.
There were also presentations of opportunities for cooperation in the fields of education and culture.
Following the meeting, a protocol was signed.
During the visit to Azerbaijan, the delegation of Tatarstan visited the Alat Free Economic Zone (FEZ), got acquainted with the work carried out on its territory and the conditions created.
In addition, it is planned to hold business meetings at the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones and the Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments (AZPROMO), as well as at the Baku House of SMEs.
