The plenary session of the EEU Intergovernmental Council will be devoted to food security, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said on Friday in Orsha.
According to him, the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, which will be held on June 3-4 in the Belarusian territory, will be attended by the prime ministers of the EEU countries.
“Armenia may be represented by the Deputy Prime Minister. The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, as an observer country, will be there, and the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan will be the guest of honor,” the head of the Belarusian government said.
Golovchenko believes that the high interest in the event is due to the fact that the plenary session will be devoted to such a topic as food security of the EEU. The event will be held on the basis of the Belagro exhibition.
“Therefore, the representation is wide: traditionally there is great interest. I know that my colleagues are preparing for serious speeches on this important issue,” he emphasized.
The Belarusian Prime Minister stressed that the agenda of the meeting will traditionally be tense, because there are a number of issues that need to be discussed.
“They relate to the issue of controlling the customs value of goods. Many import flows are being rebuilt now. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that there is no underestimation of the customs value and our countries do not lose budget revenues from the so–called customs clearance,” he explained.
