The United Arab Emirates and China intend to develop co-operation within the BRICS framework. The two countries said in a statement issued after UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit to Beijing. The two sides plan to work together to achieve the goals of the association.
The two countries also agreed to jointly coordinate with the international community in promoting economic globalisation.
On 30 May, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. The leaders discussed ‘ways to expand the comprehensive strategic partnership’.
The two sides also signed several agreements and memoranda on strengthening bilateral relations concerning the One Belt, One Road initiative, investment and trade, science and technology, tourism, health, culture, statistics, higher education, as well as Chinese language teaching, intellectual property, peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
