Current challenges of economic cooperation between the countries of Greater Eurasia, the practical implementation of the concept of “integration of integrations” and the unifying agenda in Eurasia were discussed by the participants of the session “The Great Eurasian Partnership as a new pole of growth: potential and prospects” within the framework of the XXVII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the press service of the EEC reported.
Sergey Glazyev, Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission, took part in the session.
“The development of the EEU as one of the economic centers of the Greater Eurasian Partnership is fixed among the priorities of the Declaration on the Further Development of Economic Processes within the EEU until 2030 and for the period up to 2045,” Sergey Glazyev said.
He also noted the contribution of the EEU to the formation of the BEP “integration framework”, talking about the development of cooperation with ASEAN, SCO and other structures in the region.
In terms of the functional content of the concept, Sergey Glazyev identified several key areas, among which:
the creation of a fair system of monetary and financial relations,
formation of a common exchange space,
joint transport infrastructure,
information security system.
“The Great Eurasian Partnership is becoming the basis for the formation of a new world economic order,” Sergey Glazyev summed up.
During the session, SCO Deputy Secretary General Khan Sohail noted that the dialogue between the SCO and the EEU is developing on a constructive and mutually respectful basis, contributes to the synchronization of integration efforts to form a multipolar world order.
