A Chinese company plans to build a new hydroelectric power plant in the Andijan region. A delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the governor of the region visited China these days, the press service of the regional administration reports.
A corresponding agreement was reached between the khokimiyat of the Andijan region and the Chinese company Zheijang Commercial Building.
The regional administration recalled that cooperation with this company began with a project to build a hydroelectric power plant worth $ 200 million and with a capacity of 118 megawatts. Currently, the parties are expanding their plans for cooperation.
During recent negotiations in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, an agreement was reached with the company’s management on the construction of a 300 megawatt hydroelectric power plant in Andijan.
“The total cost of this project is $500 million. At the first stage, investment funds in the amount of $ 50 million will be used,“ the message says.
It is noted that after the launch of the HPP, it will be able to provide electricity to more than half of the Andijan region.
