On June 25, the Russian Foreign Ministry held a regular round of consultations between the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman for Political Affairs Khalifa Al-Harisi.

During a thorough “reconciliation of the clock” on key aspects of the international and regional agenda, the main attention was paid to the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, Syria, Sudan, Yemen and the Red Sea. At the same time, Moscow and Muscat confirmed their interest in finding effective solutions to resolve acute crises in the Middle East and North Africa exclusively by political and diplomatic means, taking into account the legitimate interests of all parties involved. The importance of creating a reliable system of collective security and sustainable development in the Persian Gulf zone based on the principles of mutual respect and good neighborliness was also noted.

A range of issues related to further strengthening the traditionally friendly Russian-Omani relations, including increasing trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, were also discussed in detail.
