On July 5, 2024, the VIII Congress of the International Union of Lawyers was held in Moscow.
The Congress was attended by heads of unions and associations of lawyers, heads and judges of the supreme (supreme) courts of the CIS member states, representatives of the authorities of the Russian Federation and the Commonwealth of Independent States, as well as representatives of the scientific community and guests from far and near abroad.
Member of the Coordinating Council of the International Union of Lawyers, Director of the Legal Department L.K. Zaudalskaya and Deputy Director of the Legal Department A.G. Sargsyan participated in the work of the Congress on behalf of the CIS Executive Committee.
The CIS Executive Committee and the International Union of Lawyers have long-term fruitful cooperation, one of the stages of which was the signing on March 29, 2024 of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the International Union of Lawyers.
Within the framework of the agenda of the Congress, issues related to the activities of the Chairman of the International Union of Lawyers, the Coordinating Council of the International Union of Lawyers, the Audit Board of the International Union of Lawyers were considered.
During the meeting, amendments to the Charter of the International Union of Lawyers, as well as the main activities of the International Union of Public Associations of Lawyers “International Union of Lawyers” were also considered.
Trebkov A.A. will continue to preside over the International Union of Lawyers.
