On July 25, 2024, the 22nd meeting of the Attorneys General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member States was held in Bishkek under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side.
The event in a hybrid format was attended by high-ranking delegations from all ten Member States of the Organization. The SCO secretariat was represented by Deputy Secretary General Janet Kane, Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) SCO Director Ruslan Mirzaev. Azerbaijan participated as a dialogue partner.
The discussions focused on the exchange of views on the role of national supervisory authorities in the modern context, including in the era of digitalization; exchange of experience in countering modern threats, ensuring human rights.
The next similar meeting is scheduled to be held in Pakistan in 2025.
Janesh Kane had a conversation with Prosecutor General of the Kyrgyz Republic Maksat Asanaliev on the sidelines of the meeting.
