The IV Eurasian Women’s Forum was held in St. Petersburg. The organizers of this large–scale event are the Federation Council and the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS member States. The operator is the Roscongress Foundation.
A large event was held from September 18 to 20 in St. Petersburg.
The Eurasian Women’s Forum is an authoritative international platform for dialogue between women leaders from all continents and the development of joint solutions on topical issues of international cooperation, sustainable economic development, the development of new technologies, ensuring a healthy lifestyle and environmental safety, and the promotion of social charity projects. The forum was held in St. Petersburg for the 4th time. It was attended by more than 1,500 people from 126 countries. The main theme of the forum is “Women for building trust and global cooperation”.
The high status of the Forum was given by the participation of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. The business program included more than 100 events. In total, more than 300 events were held under the auspices of the forum.
A wide variety of issues, thematic sessions, speeches and discussions were discussed at the Forum site.
The Forum was attended by women parliamentarians, representatives of executive authorities, international organizations, business circles, business, the scientific community, public organizations and charitable projects, authoritative figures of the international women’s movement from many countries of the world.
In 2024, the International Photo Contest is being held under the auspices of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO with the support of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The Forum included plenary sessions, discussion platforms, including with public opinion leaders, strategic and expert sessions with the participation of international organizations, public-private and business dialogues, parity discussions, webinars, practical seminars, business breakfasts. The forum participants also took part in an extensive cultural program, achievements and novelties in various fields of science and technology were presented
According to the established tradition, the Forum hosted an off-site open meeting of the Women’s Twenty (W20) “Reaching the global level: women’s organizations and multilateral institutions”, which was opened by Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko.
She noted that the organization will work to reduce the wage gap and involve women in science and technology.
One third of the world’s leaders are women. To be precise, 32% — this figure was named at the meeting of the “Women’s Twenty” — this is one of the main events of the Eurasian Forum, which was held in the Tauride Palace.
“With the advent of the Women’s Twenty and the Eurasian Women’s Forum, the influence of women on world politics has significantly strengthened. And it’s true. We are increasingly discussing not what the world can do for women, but what women can do for the world,” said Valentina Ivanovna, Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.
It is the involvement of women that can contribute to solving the issues of sustainable development that are so relevant today all over the world,” said Gulden Turktan, founding President of the W20 and sherpa from Turkey.
The Forum ended with a plenary session. Based on the results of the work, a final document was adopted, which will be sent to the UN and the heads of all states of the world.
An incredible atmosphere of kindness, trust and friendship prevailed at all the venues of the forum. The participants gained tremendous experience in international cooperation, gained new acquaintances and gained useful knowledge.
