On October 2, the Russian Ambassador to Israel, A.D. Viktorov, received a Russian citizen, Tala Harkina, the mother of a native of Donetsk, M.V.Harkin, who is being held hostage in the Gaza Strip.
A.D. Viktorov expressed his sincere support to the family and friends of M.V.Harkin. I informed his mother about the targeted steps being taken by the Russian side to rescue all detained persons from the Palestinian semi-enclave, including our compatriots and citizens of other countries. He assured that the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry and Russian diplomats continue to work consistently with all interested parties in the Middle East region and are doing everything in their power to resolve this urgent humanitarian problem as soon as possible.
