Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the XVI BRICS summit as a constructive meeting and an opportunity to exchange views on the global agenda with the leaders of leading countries. This is reported by ANI, a partner of the TV BRICS network.
Modi also noted the results of the work of the New BRICS Development Bank. According to the Prime Minister, this institute has made a significant contribution to the implementation of projects and initiatives of the association.
On the sidelines of the summit, the head of the Indian government also held a meeting with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Merziyoyev. The sides discussed ways to develop bilateral relations.
“In Kazan, Shavkat Merziyoyev and I talked about the prospects for strengthening cooperation between India and Uzbekistan, including in the field of trade and culture,” Modi said.
As for the efforts of the BRICS countries to stimulate economic growth, according to the Prime Minister, the joint efforts of the members of the association open up new opportunities for simplifying the supply of agricultural products, building production chains, developing electronic commerce and creating special economic zones
In addition, Narendra Modi drew attention to India’s initiatives in the field of ecology and sustainable development and called on the countries of the group to join them.
The XVI BRICS Summit was held in Kazan on October 22-24. The event, attended by representatives of more than 30 states, became the central event of the Russian presidency of the association.
