On November 4 this year Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Thailand E.Y. Tomikhin within the framework of the “cross” Year of Cultural Exchange and Tourism Russia-Thailand in a solemn atmosphere handed over to the National Library of Thailand books by Russian authors selected within the framework of the “Library Dialogue” by the M.I. Rudomino Library of Foreign Literature.
Acting Director of the National Library of Thailand B. Chuchat expressed her sincere gratitude to the Russian side for the handover of books that will allow Thai readers to learn more about culture and history of Russia.
Thai representatives thanked the Russian Embassy for supporting the exchange program between the two leading libraries.
At the conclusion of the event, library staff demonstrated old books related to Russian historyrelated to Russian history. Some of them were brought to Thailand by King Rama V of Siam after his visit to Russia.
